Learning and Development

Reach your potential

There is a strong learning culture at BUUK. We want to recruit and retain the best
people and nurture existing talent within the business. So, we invest in our
people, providing learning and development opportunities at every level. From
on-the-job training and mentoring to professional courses and accreditations, we
aim for all BUUK people to grow with us and meet their full potential.

Learning and development are part of our talent management strategy, aligning
group and individual goals and performance with the overall vision and objectives
of the business. Across the group, BUUK people are at different learning stages
and progressing towards their personal career goals.

Mentoring and learning
on-the-job

Our mentoring programme creates constructive connections between
experienced staff and new team members. Mentors help and guide our new
starters and job movers with structured opportunities to share knowledge and
experiences whilst learning on the job. Formal training programmes also
support career progression and development right across the business.

24/7 Learning Online

‘My Learning’ is the home to a range of education, information, and training
resources for all BUUK colleagues. It is an online platform hosting internal and
external resources aligned with our business goals and core values. From articles
and blogs to webinars and eLearning, there is a method of delivery to suit
everyone, with resources to upskill and learn.

The Institute of Leadership

ILM Level 3 is a nationally recognised qualification accredited by the City and

level to share a common leadership language and develop effective
management behaviours. The topics covered reflect those of our higher-level
leadership programmes, and all BUUK people in a role with direct reports have
the chance to study for the ILM.
