“BUUK heat networks achieve
75-80% carbon savings from day
one – ahead of the 2025 deadline
for Future Home Standards.”
Delivering a green revolution
for UK housing
BUUK provides the utility infrastructure for more new-build properties
than any other company. Our heat networks are supporting new
sustainable communities and will significantly contribute to the
Government’s net zero goals. BUUK heat networks achieve 75-80% carbon
savings from day one – ahead of the 2025 deadline for Future Home
Standards. As the electricity grid becomes zero carbon, so too will our heat
networks, delivering a future-proof, long-term solution.
We have 5-Star GRESB
sustainability benchmarking
BUUK has a five-star rating in GRESB sustainability benchmarking, with ‘sector
leader’ status for environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance.
GRESB is a comprehensive third-party standard driven by investors that provides
financial markets with ESG data and insights on individual assets and portfolios.
One of the most important benefits is that it helps identify our strengths across
our operations and where there is work to be done.
Re-thinking and re-sourcing
for sustainability
Our sustainability and environmental priorities are fundamental
to being a responsible business. BUUK has committed to
eliminating Single Use Plastic (SUP) by 2025 and is actively
working towards zero waste to landfill. We have made a
commitment to be Net Zero Carbon in respect of the emissions
sources under direct control by 2040. Working alongside
suppliers and colleagues, we work together to define our
environmental efficacy and sustainability goals – so that we all
share in the duty and desire to deliver them – and are actively
re-innovating, re-thinking and re-sourcing for a greener future.
We’re onHand for
conservation and community
Impactful change starts with small acts. BUUK people are supported and encouraged
to get involved and make a positive impact. Through our onHand volunteering
programme, the business makes paid time available to all employees for volunteering
and supporting projects they feel passionate about. Many choose environmental and
conservation volunteering projects, and are out in their communities – litter picking,
cleaning up waterways, planting trees, rewilding and more.
